ARC Special Research Initiative

ARC Special Research Initiative

The Association for the Study of Australian Literature warmly congratulates the recipients of ARC Special Research Initiative funding who are working in the field of Australian literary studies:

  • Associate Professor Emily Potter, Dr Brigid Magner and Dr Torika Bolatagici for “Reading in the Mallee: The Literary Past and Future of an Australian Region”
  • Associate Professor Mandy Treagus and Associate Professor Margaret Samuelson for “Between Indian and Pacific Oceans: Reframing Australian Literatures”
  • Professor Katherine Bode and Dr Roger Osborne for “Read all about it: Digital participation in Australian newspaper fiction.”
  • Professor Sue Martin, part of an interdisciplinary team project, “Parched: cultures of drought in regional Victoria.”

This scheme attracted a significant number of applications from Australian literary scholars, in line with the current vitality of our field. As we also acknowledge the committed work of unsuccessful applicants, we strongly encourage the ARC to continue to support important and innovative research in Australian society, history and culture.
