06 Nov ASAL Patrons Lecture & Borderlands Magazine Launch
5pm -7pm, Wednesday 13 November, Library & Archives, Parliament House, Darwin
This year’s Patrons Lecture will be delivered by Marie Munkara in conjunction with the launch of Borderlands Magazine – the first literary magazine in the Northern Territory for 20 years. Marie Munkara is an award winning Aboriginal author from the Tiwi Islands and will talk about her own creative practice, and the importance of Aboriginal literature. The event will also mark the publication of Westerly Magazine (64.2) featuring six talented NT authors in it’s upcoming November issue. The Patrons Lectures are funded by the Copyright Agency and support emerging and distinguished Australian writers to travel to locations around Australia to give a public talk on a topic of his or her choosing for a broader public. The event promises to be a celebration of new opportunities and diverse storytelling. For more information about the Borderlands project please go to: https://borderlands.cdu.edu.au/
